That description sure sounds like supervision to me!

If WIC regulations truly require PCs to be supervised by an RD or RN, we'll
be in trouble in New Jersey! We have many IBCLCs who are not RNs and who
supervise PCs, so I am sure our "WIC regulations" don't exclude IBCLCs from
that role. I am the "Regional Breastfeeding Manager" for five WIC local
agencies in the southern end of NJ, and I am the only one of our five IBCLCs
who is also an RN. We all supervise Peer Counselers.

I hope WIC IBCLCs in other states will join this discussion. The IBCLC
credential ought to be on a professional par with RD or RN, don't you think?
