Dear Ruth,

Don't have time to get more info on this right now - am leaving very
shortly to visit family for the weekend. I'm sure Tom or Jack will check
in soon. However, a friend of mine's husband went on propulsid recently
and she showed me the insert. I don't remember it exactly, but the the
general idea was that anit-fungals should not be taken with this drug as
it could lead to possibly fatal heart arrhythmia. The worry is that if
the baby ingests the anti-fungal from the nipples and it interacts with
the propulcid - probably a long-shot, but I would be wary on this one -
as I recall, the insert warning was very explicit about absolutely not
using these drugs in combination. You should be able to confirm this
info easily by contacting a pharmacist - mom should have been given the
insert anyways. Hale also notes many drug interactions with this med,
including "azole antifungals such as ketoconazole, fluconazole,
erythromycins". Please check into this further.
