Formula is so easy in the hospital. Just crack off the bottle cap and screw on the nipple, voila! ready to feed. And baby does not need to open the mouth widely to feed, just open the mouth a crack and the adult does the rest. 5-10 minutes later the feeding is done, everybody is happy.

Breastfeeding is a different scenerio. Baby may not latch on after several attempts, new mothers feel like thy need 4 hands to position the baby, common doubts around if baby is getting enough.

Baby is 2 weeks old now. Formula is more labor and time intense. Mixing it, cooling it, warming it, washing the bottles and nipples, going to the kitchen to get a bottle for the night feedings.

Breastfeeding is easy now! Baby has learned how and does half the work. The milk is warm, ready, in a clean container, nothing to wash after feedings. Night feedings can be easy in side lying position.

Hospital practices are deceiving!
