A client contacted me today concerning her right to pump her breasts. She is
in the military and has been assigned to a gate at a military base. She is
going to be working a 12-14 hour day, and has been told that she cannot take
the time needed to pump her breasts. I know that a federal law was passed
stating that breastfeeding could not be banned on federal property. Could
this somehow be construed to include pumping?
Thanks for any help for this mom, who has been pumping now for a number of
months. If she has to go cold-turkey for 14 hours, I am afraid of the
consequences for her and her baby!
