I don't know about any laws on this as I'm a very out of practise English
lawyer. However I do know a thing or to about persuading someone to do
something.
We have special facilities with video links for children to give evidence in
abuse cases in some courts.
I asked our Victim Support rep at the local court hypothetically if this
could be used for a nursing mother. He said they would discuss this at their
next meeting but I didn't hear anything.
In this country it would probably be at the discretion of the judge to allow
baby in.
To make a good case for mother using these facilities get as much history of
her individual circumstances that make her need to breastfeed.Even if its a
third cousin with breast cancer, allergies of her grandmother etc the great
thing to gain sympathy from someone (the judge )whose own children may have
been in daycare from a few weeks, have been formula fed or formula fed his
children etc. Explain the risk to her health ie engorgerment, blocked ducts
maybe mastitis from the separation seen by many as just normal.
And give the court's admin staff as much notice,in triplicat of course! so
they can start or move the case to a court with links.
Of course your judges may allow the baby into the court in which case, well
done.
Your state law depending on the state may protect the right to nurse, but we
don't have that here.
