Kidney failure often requires additional dietary management, to reduce
     the amount of protein that is being spilled into the urine. It
     requires strict compliance and requires close consultation with a
     dietitian trained to modify diets for renal disease. It would probably
     help if you got acquainted with the people who are helping her manage
     her diabetes so that you can help be her advocate for breastfeeding.
