Hi, Laurie.  Thanks for responding.  The baby was five days old.  I don't
remember the exact percentages, but his weight loss was less than 10%.  He
was breastfeeding well at the time of discharge--without any signs of
jaundice.  I felt so bad for this mom, because she was blaming herself.
That's a good question about whether kernicterus has ever occurred due to
breastfeeding jaundice.  I'd be interested if anyone knows.
