Forgot to tack on LACTNET address and this didn't go anywhere, so am
forwarding it to the list this way. Hope this is okay. If not, I'm sure
I'll hear about it. KW :)

Hi, gang. My phone lines are down at home because of our current deluge here
in the Southwest and Southeast, I guess, so I just had to get back on LACTNET
at work. I didn't want to miss the dialogue that last night's Mad About You
is bound to inspire. And I have to put my $.02 in this time.

It's bad enough that they had to portray Paul, a heretofor sensitive guy, as
ignorant, bull-headed, and so completely wrapped up in his own "needs" that
he totally disregarded the serious health risks his behavior was posing for
his and Jamie's baby, but it was totally unconscionable of whoever's creative
"genius" is responsible for that show to demonstrate such dangerous feeding
protocol! Paul poured boiling water directly from a whistling tea kettle
into the bottle containing powdered abm, shook it up, and fed it to the baby
in less than 30 seconds! They should have ended up in a hospital emergency
room answering the questions of a social worker and/or police detective about
why the baby's mouth, throat, and esophagus were scalded! How could they not
understand what they were portraying there??????

I really thought that they had learned something with the "crying it out"
episode. With the episode last night the show has completely lost my further
participation. I'm still incredulous (but, as you can see, not speechless)
over what I saw last night! And, yes, I fully intend to share my feelings
with them as soon as my phone lines are repaired at home. Geez!

Keitha, in Mississippi, completely inundated with rain and incredulity!
