Jan,
I had my last mammogram in the fall (and I too was about 2 years overdue and went to a new facility), and I was also asked whether I'd breastfed. It's great!

On that note, I've finally gotten into the local Y-Me breast cancer support group in my community...I've been trying for about 2 years, and I'm speaking at their monthly meeting in Feb. on breastfeeding and its impact on breast cancer.

I would encourage everyone to do either public speaking or publishing of articles/press releases, etc. to promote the field of lactation. These groups and/or newspapers are always looking for new materials or new faces to fill the sessions or the columns.
