For those of you who have asked (followed about) my sojourn west and my
gardening adventures, I just want you all to know that I was able to plant
daffodil bulbs in November of 1997 (I didn't get them earlier). They
started poking up out of the ground in December (!) and yesterday (March
11) the first 6 bloomed; today about 20 are nodding their lovely yellow
heads in the light breeze, a lovely counterpoint to ALL the mountains that
are out today--with lots of snow on them, too.

Peonies branches are starting to emerge from the ground as well, and I look
forward to them blooming this season. Will the tulip clusters be far
behind? :-)

PS My apologies to those still in the snow belt. (Am I ever glad I no
longer have to deal with that)
