I posted the following, with mom's permission on Hale's, and thought I'd  
also see if any of you have ever experienced something similar with a  client.  I 
also am sure I understand how steroids interfere with milk  production, so if 
anyone can explain this, I'd be grateful.
 
A mom just called me with concerns re her milk supply suddenly decreasing,  
last 12 hr, after a high dose of dexamethasone was given for symptoms of  
MS,(visual blurring), 200 mg in twice daily divided doses for 3 days.  Milk  supply 
diminished about 12 hr following last dose.  She states she took no  other 
medication to counteract effects of decadron since nursing.  Her milk  supply 
was fine, even overly abundant prior.  Would this cause drastic drop  in milk 
supply? and is this decrease likely to be permanent or can she take  herbals or 
domperidone to bring supply back up?
