"obese" breastfed babies in our family all thinned out, but one. I remember Scott who weighed 40 pounds at 2 y, 3,y & 4 y :-) No one panicked about him not growing heavier. He just got taller. Now a normal size adult. Now my obese bottle fed babies are another story :-( I do think over weight BF babies are victims of oversupply. They try mightily to eat it all and mom just keeps making more. Something that we maybe need to pay attention to. I'm seeing more babies now days with reflux and obvious oversupply in mom. Why??? American moms are well nourished, probably overly well nourished....babies are actually getting to breast faster after birth, the whole system is working better. Any one else have any good ideas?

Re: baby you mentioned. She is slowing down and I do think what complementary foods she gets are very important. Pat in SNJ
