Glenda and others: I carry a clipboard around on rounds that is actually a
metal box with the clip on the top. I can clip my roster sheet to the top
of the box. The box has a metal clip one must lift to open. It is a
shallow box, but just the right size to fit a few tubes of Purelan, my
business card, and the Ziploc with the belly balls, although they are
usually running around loose in the box. I got our clipboard boxes thru the
office supply company our hospital does business with. I don't let the
parents hold the marbles, I just hold them up one at a time in my fingers
as we discuss their baby's stomach size. I immediately return them to the
box when done demonstrating. This method allows me to know where they're
at, so that I don't lose them and so that they don't fall into little ones'
hands and pose potential safety hazards.
Hats off to Hollister for one of the best "tools" to come out in a long
time!
