This is my first posting on lactnet, so I hope I do this right. I've been lurking awhile, though. I'm a
neonatologist in a university level III+ NICU. Cold babies need to be given heat sources, not
artificial feeding. As the very astute NICU nurse posted previously, cold stress inhibits gut blood
flow, so feeding is exactly wrong. That babe, who sounds preterm, to me, needs skin to skin care
with mom or dad, both covered in a warm blanket, or a warmer or isolette.
