Forgive me if this has been discussed recently, but I have only now
figured out how to get back on Lactnet after being nomail for the conference.
My question is isn't the U.S. celebrating World Breastfeeding Week at the
same time as every one else? I thought the idea of it being "World" was so
that all of the countries could be doing something at the same time. I
purchased an INFACT World Breastfeeding Action Kit at the conference and
inside on the first page it says " We are very pleased that World
Breastfeeding Week has been changed from August to October. Many people
wished to be able to access schools and educators, but were unable to because
of the August date. The move to October will facilitate this." I am
confused.. I called ILCA and they said that they were unaware of this. Is
everyone except Canada going to celebrate in August or is the U.S. the only
one?? Someone please help to clarify this for me since I am going to the
media with the angle that it is celebrated "worldwide" in August.
