Hi All,

I have a mom who has been dealing with <supposed> resistant thrush - BUT she
and I and another colleague here on the list all think she is dealing with a
bacterial infection of some sort - or that the baby is and it is causing her
problems. So she finally got her Dr to culture her nipples and the results
came back with Corynebacterium . Does anyone have any experience with this
particular bacteria and is it something that would cause sore nipples,
cracking etc? Baby has had a white coating on his tongue and the Ped says it
is a bacteria that is normal but will NOT culture. So mom is in pain, still
nursing, baby has something and we are now at a loss. Mom is using APNO
sporadically because it doesn't seem to help 100% when used appropriately
and then she needed to not use it for several days to get a decent culture.
She will be forcing the issue with the Ped tomorrow and if no results there
will go to a different Dr to get the help she needs.

Baby has had all other issues (suck, tongue tie etc) ruled out. Nursing was
fine with no issues until the first bout of thrush.

Thanks in advance!

Warmly,

Jaye
