Regarding the mother's in Russia who contracted AIDS...when I was working
with an adoptive mother with this concern I spoke with someone at CDC
regarding this issue and was told that the Russian story had a lot more to it
than we were led to believe by the press - not an unusual occurance - and the
cdc physician, who had been to Russia to look into this matter assured me
that the transmission  from  baby to mother was not something to concern's
oneself about.
