I took a look at Dr. Michel Cohen's website for his new book, _The
New Basics_, and didn't see any LC-bashing there. However his
breastfeeding information appears on a page titled "Breast Milk vs.
Formula" (why "breast milk" and not "-feeding"?).
<http://www.thenewbasics.com/breast_milk.shtml> The page has several
inaccuracies and overall conveys the message, so familiar and
annoying to all of us, that breastfeeding is nice if you can do it,
but if not, formula's just fine too.

The inaccuracy that jumped out at me most was this: "Another common
misperception, that breast feeding guarantees acceptance to an Ivy
League school, springs from an inconclusive but highly publicized
study that argued that IQ is slightly higher in breast-fed children."

Even a perfunctory literature search will turn up not just *one* but
scores of studies linking bf and IQ/intelligence. Some of these
studies may be inconclusive but others have quite solid conclusions.
And the IQ differences noted range from "slight" to substantial.

I'm not impressed so far.
