Before Xmas, a med student had contacted me about the reference for the
session at the 93 ILCA conference on Labor meds & BF. My syllabus was loaned
out at the time, postponing my response, and in the meantime, I accidentally
deleted several saved messages that included this gal's name & address. So
I'm posting the basics. I know this has come up a couple times. Hope I'm
not duplicating someone else's response.
93 ILCA Conference (Scottsdale); Foundation of Influence: A Proactive
Approach to Breastfeeding; Session 102, Maternal Analgesia & Problems
Initiating Breastfeeding; M. Kay Matthews, MN, SCM, Scool of Nursing,
Memorial University, St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada A1B 3V6. I'm sure the
cassette of the session can be ordered. Theirs an extensive bibliography. I
could snail mail it to those interested.
Another more recent source is a study by Sharron S. Humenick & others,
published in the Journal of Nurse-Midwifery (May/June 94,pp150-155)
