In the UK, good practice would be to use hand expression in these 
early days, rather than a pump....I am not sure what the research 
evidence is for this, or if there have been any comparative studies, 
but hands are low tech, easy to maintain, and it's more simple to 
retrieve precious drops of colostrum and store or use  them  straight 
away.

Oh, and no one needs to *buy* anything if they use hands :)
