My, oh, my what an interesting discussion this has been with folks around
the world. I'm more confused than ever!  I am the one who posted that I
don't do consults when there is not a physician to report to.  The
discussion revolved around homebirth mothers. In my situation they would be
delivered by lay midwives in the state of Georgia, USA. The original poster,
Amy, I believe is from Colorado, USA where lay midwifery is legal and I
presume would have more medical back-up than here.  It's all so complicated
and from what I've read so far on Lacnet we are stating our opinions.  It
looks like many of us could use some clarification from the horses mouth on
our quite different situations.
