whenever I get an inquiry about a pump purchase I first ask the mom why she
thinks she needs one. If the answer is because she is going back to work, I ask
if she (& husband/partner) have thought about her staying home, including
reminding her that working costs money.

In the 3 years I've been an LLLL I know at least 5 women who quit their job and
one even did daycare in her home and decided she wasn't helping babies by
allowing their moms to go back to work!

I understand there are many women who "need" to return to work, but we seem to
be stuck with an idea that a paying job/career is the only way to be fulfilled.
I for one never thought I'd enjoy being a stay-at-home mom as much as I do, my
days are so full of my son, hobbies and other SAHM's that I can't imagine trying
to fit in a job on somebody else's schedule.

I applaud and encourage those of you who are helping moms to stay at home.
