Hi everyone,
Seeking opinion for a mom. Story... Mom has MS, delivered baby at 25 weeks
because of severe HELP . Baby now 35 weeks and doing very well- up to 4
pounds . Mom pumping since birth and has tons of milk. Baby now taking
breast well. Mom is now having some tingling and other symptoms of her MS
and sees neurologist soon who wants her to go back on her copaxone and to
stop breastfeeding. Hale says L3 but not much research done especially on
premies. Baby's team telling mom Ok for full term but not much info on premies
and it is up to mom.
Mom is an OBS nurse and desperately wants to continue breastfeeding but
does not want to jeopardize baby. Anyone have research they can point me
to. Any neonatologists on the list care to comment?
Thanks so much in advance for any help with this one.
