Dear supporters of Breastfeeding in Canada:

Have you heard about the Breastfeeding Challenge?

All across Canada, at 11:00 a.m. on October 5th, women will gather and nurse
their children. Last year they did this all across British Columbia, and now
the organizers are offering what they learnt to expand and coordinate this
event all across Canada, in support of World Breastfeeding Week
celebrations.

All the posters, registration forms, press releases, etc are already created
for you, and available on the website, along with detailed instructions on
how to run an event. Basically you just need a place to meet, the forms, the
mom and child breastfeeding pairs, and a few people to count them. Then you
email the forms back to Frances. This will probably grow and turn into an
annual event, so even if you start with just a couple moms (you and your
friends!), then next year you can try for more!
You can learn all about it at www.babyfriendly.ca

I just got this reminder from the organizer, Frances Jones:

"Three weeks, five days until the challenge. If you haven't got your
registration form in, take a minute and check the website
(www.babyfriendly.ca) and register. We have sites from BC, Alberta and
Saskatchewan registered but no further east. Do they honestly just
breastfeed in the west???....remember you only need two women to "have a
site" and once we start contacting the media it would be really nice to have
a registered site for each province. If you personally aren't doing a site
feel free to send this reminder to all your nearest and dearest!
Thanks,
Frances"

And thanks for considering this,
