the last of the six pregnant girlfriends in my playgroup had her baby sunday and called me at home this evening with "engorgement" and "sore cracked nipples."
those six ladies delivered between 10 weeks ago and 2.5 days ago, and five of them have called me for help, ranging from daily phone conversations, to home visits, to an in-hospital post-c/section feeding with a drugged and dozing mom. the other of those friends delivered on thanksgiving- no interventions, no medications- and is doing great.

after discussing some tips and tricks, I asked my friend if she would like for me to come over, and if not now, "I'll definitely come over tomorrow morning after I take the boys to school." sean and harrison overheard the first part and yelled "yeaaa! we get to go over someone's house and help her nurse!!" she told me she'd try the few things first and see how they did and would call me back soon. I told the boys, "no, we're not necessarily going to X's house tonight" and they whined, "why not? can't we go help?" :-D

(*this might be purely coincidental, but the 5 who've had "issues" all had interventions -one c/s, 2 inductions, and 4 epidurals. hhmmm.....)
