Milk banks (and US blood banks) are now asking prospective donors about
residency in Great Britain. Exclusions are made due to concern (and lack of
real knowledge) about how mad cow disease is communicated. There is prob.
very low risk in banked milk due to pasteurization, but the scientific comm.
is not really sure about how diseases wok that are spread by prions. Kathy
D's points are very well taken about relative risk of various diseases, and
my own prejudice is to breastfeed.
