For the past few months, I've been enjoying watching Wanda nurse her new
infant, Ham, in the comic, Baby Blues. The breastfeeding was never
mentioned, but simply assumed. In each panel where Wanda would be shown
sitting on the couch, Ham was at the breast. Sometimes these scenes would be
accompanied by a "thup, thup, thup," sound balloon coming from Ham (talk
about an audible swallow).

Today's comic, however, has left the subtle support for breastfeeding behind
when the dad states, "Listen to this. Breast milk is the perfect food for
infants, in fact, scientists still haven't identified all the nutritional,
hormonal and growth factors in human milk. I'm really gald we breast fed
both of our kids."

Can you imagine Wanda's response?

Thought some of you might want to join me in applauding the efforts of
creators, Rick Kirkman and Jerry Scott if your local papers carry this comic.
