I do have a CoLeader whose dh used to do the "pinkie pacifier" let the
newborn suck on his pinkie finger if she was in the bathroom, shower,
whatever, for a few minutes. All took to this well, except one of her kids
refused to latch on after  he did this, then when she told him not to do that
anymore the baby nursed fine! So...anecdotal but something to consider..
