Hello, my name is Adriana. This is my first time posting on Lactnet. I have two boys and my youngest, 3 year old, continues to be an avid nurser. I work for WIC and am working towards getting my IBCLC. We often translate breastfeeding documents from English to Spanish. I have yet to find the best way to translate and explain what is an IBCLC to our population, which often seems to come from areas where Lactation Consultants are unheard of.  I often times hear the term "Specialista de Lactancia" (Lactation Specialist)being loosely (and carelessly) thrown,  but I feel that this is an over simplification of what an IBCLC is and does.  Would anyone please let me know what is the term used for IBCLC in Latin America?  specially in Mexico? Thanks for your help in advance!
