Gail,
Congratualtions.  I suspect one reason your request was accepted so
readily is that you have gained the respect of others for your
knowledge.  You didn't say who was on the committee, but the letters
after your name may have had an impact also. When a request comes from
an MD, the reality is that it is perceived as carrying more weight than
if it comes from an RN or LC without other initials.
Sometimes it's so easy to get caught up on where we want to be that we
can overlook the small steps we do accomplish in moving in the right
direction.
