This gets murkier by the minute!
It seems that Cheerios are NOT made by Nestle in the USA or Canada,
but ARE made by them in other countries. I believe that this is true
of some other products too - in some countries they are made by Nestle
but not in others.
Then there is the whole licence thing.
Some sweets in the USA, for example, are made by Hershey - but under
licence from Nestle! Where do you draw the line?

My husband is convinced that Nestle will soon have such a monopoly
that we won't be able to buy anything at all!
Here are some examples of recent activities:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cereal_Partners_Worldwide
>Cereal Partners Worldwide S.A. is a joint venture between General
Mills and Nestlé, established in 1990 to produce breakfast cereals.
The company is headquartered in Lausanne, Switzerland, and markets
cereals in more than 130 countries (except for the U.S. and Canada).
The company's cereals are sold under the Nestlé brand, although many
originated from General Mills and some such as Shredded Wheat and
Shreddies were once made by Nabisco. <

>Beverage Partners Worldwide (BPW), a fifty-fifty joint venture held
by Nestlé and The Coca-Cola Company, was created in 2001 following a
period of 10 years during which Nestlé and The Coca-Cola Company
cooperated in a joint venture called Coca-Cola and Nestlé Refreshments
(CCNR). <

>Lausanne, 21 November 2006 – The Nestlé Research Center (NRC) and
EPFL (one of the two Swiss Federal Institutes of Technology) today
signed a five-year agreement to conduct research on the relationship
between nutrition and the brain. Under this agreement, Nestlé will
contribute CHF 5 million per year to research at EPFL's Brain Mind
Institute, where two Nestlé Chairs will be established.<

ARGGGGGGHHHHH!
They are getting into our brains!
