A mom called me today wanting me to come to her home and get her baby to take
a bottle!  An unusual request, I thought.   I declined, and discussed her
situation further.  Apparently, her employer is asking her to leave the baby for
a few weekends in March (48 hour separations) and she is concerned that her
baby will "starve/dehydrate."  Baby is 2 months old and absolutely refuses any
offers of any type of bottle or pacifier.  After a long conversation about the
options (finger feeding, cup, etc), she began to think that perhaps leaving
the baby would not be in anyone's best interest.  She has asked me to compose a
letter to her employer explaining why a mother/baby separation could be
detrimental to both  of them.  Any ideas or suggestions on what studies or
