I find that the carseat analogy is helpful for raising the awareness 
of healthcare providers and others about the importance of 
breastfeeding.  It can be an eye-opener for those who are wishy-washy 
about breastfeeding yet don't hesitate to use strong language about 
carseat use.  It highlights the fact that breastfeeding deserves the 
same kind of promotion.

I agree that it may not be an appropriate analogy to use when 
counseling mothers directly.  I do not use it that way myself.
