I have a dear friend who is having a c-section at 34 weeks today. She is
having twin boys, separate placentas that grew together. One twin is approximately
6 # 5 while the other is just over 3 #. The smaller boy also appears to have
an enlarged heart.

The parents have been given conflicting advice regarding whether to go ahead
with c-section or try vaginally. They have also been given advice that keeping
babies in utero may be an option. Obviously they are confused at this point
as to what is the right move. They have opted for the scheduled c-section this
morning because they are terrified.

I am looking for excellent recommendations for IBCLC help in the Oakland
area, private or hospital based, to refer them too. The mother intends to
breastfeed but she is also misinformed in many ways and may shy away quickly if told
the babies are too young/weak/ill to nurse.

I just hope to provide good support so they can make the best choices based
on their situation.

Any names and suggestions will be much appreciated. Heather
