I doubt that any OB ever read Human Milk in the Modern World.  OB's on
Lactnet not included, of course.  It should be required reading.

I doubt that most OB's ever read anything about breastfeeding, for that
matter.  Usually, what they know about breastfeeding is folklore passed
on in side chats during rounds.

There was an study, published many years ago that concluded something
like that, though if I remember correctly the quantity was 90% in the
first 5 minutes.  It's just nonsense, and yet this bit of information
has passed from mouth to mouth for years.
