Dear all:

The white paper could have easily been written in a manner that contained everything the CLC course offered, everything the advanced courses offered, a discussion of the gaps in current availability of courses -- without the deceptive comparisons and exaggerations. Both the ILCA document on what IBCLCs can do and the Who's Who in Lactation are examples of a much more professional and ethical approach. The first provides the facts about what IBCLCs can do, the second provides basic facts about the training of other programs without denigrating these programs.

Sincerely,

Susan E. Burger, MHS, PhD, IBCLC
