Talked with Mom 36 weeks gestation has had bloody discharge x6 wks from one
nipple. Seen surgeon who has done ultrasound, ducts are open and normal
according to mom. Discharge is Pos for Hemocult and is colostrum. Surgeon
plans to do ductogram postpartum. Told mom no pumping or breastfeeding on the
affected side until ductogram has been done. What advice can I give this mom
- Can she truly not pump or nurse on affected side? Thanks, Pat G IBCLC
