Hi Janet, Milk production in driven from the nipple to the brain and back
to the breast. Stim nipple nerve endings sends signal to brain, brain
releases prolactin (which was inhibited before delivery by hormones from
placanta) and oxytocin, prolactin in bloodstream tells cells in breast to
make milk, oxytocin in blood stream tell breast cells to squeeze milk out.
Empty cells tell breast to make more. It goes in a big circle, at least
that's the way I think of it. Ovaries have to do with eggs and conception,
not BF. Sincerely, Pat in SNJ
