Waking in the night for confort/contact is normal behaviour at this 
age and a lot older too, though I appreciate not all mothers in our 
western culture want to accept it :(

What do the parents feel about co-sleeping? This is often much less 
tiring than getting out of bed and going into a different room to 
attend to the baby.

The baby learns to feed at night ad lib without disturbing the mother.
