In my previous post, I wrote that babies lap milk from an open cup
more like a dog than a cat, but that dogs do it with the back of their
tongues.

I just checked the article, and realized I had misread this sentence.

Mea culpa! I apologize.

I was half-right. Babies do lap more like dogs than cats. They both do
it by cupping the front of their tongues.
