Hello, Annie.
       Actually, yes, I have seen this very situation.  Mom started out with
mastitis early on, then kept having *many* plugged ducts, which very
frequently went on to another case of mastitis.  Just touching her breast caused
another plugged duct!  (I am not exaggerating.)  We finally figured out that thrush
can cause repeated plugged ducts.  While her initial infection could very well
have been bacterial, I think the antibiotic treatment then gave her thrush.
When treated with oral diflucan, the plugged ducts and repeated mastitis
finally stopped.
