Is this someone's idea of management?  I'm aware that some folks are better
than others at running things, but this is beyond incompetent, it's rude,
inconsiderate, lousy for employee moral, not good for patients....
Hopefully, someone in the hospital will bring this behavior up to the
overall director, anyone who can't manage any better than this needs to
have their performance reviewed.  It takes ages to requisition, order and
receive hospital equipment.  No way this was a sudden move.  Perhaps she
simply didn't want to give you time to react and perhaps prevent her from
doing as she wished?  Looks like a very good time to watch your back!
