Just a personal observation.
I developed irregular hearbeat and palpitations about a month ago (3
months pregnant).  Mostly present at night.  The doctor listened to the
heart all over, and said sounded very normal except for too rapid
heatbeat (the arrhytmia did not occur while at the office).  It went
away almost completely after removing dairy and wheat from diet and has
been improving since. I do not yet know whether it was the wheat, or the
dairy, or both; an allergy, or perhaps celiac disease or what.
