    ...dear friend, my heart goes out to you on this one, but if indeed this
was SIDS (by the way--Did they do an autopsy?), there were OBVIOUSLY many
other risk factors present in this case, even prior to birth.  Did anyone
even stop to think that Mom's drinking and SMOKING habits could have
something to do with it?  To change the protocol of the entire hospital based
on one incident?  That's like deciding to take a drug off the market because
one person has an allergic reaction, and the reaction is not clearly caused
by the drug!!!

      I've experienced my share of battles alone too.  I know that you will
document this situation well.  Sometimes it pays to wait for all the
