Hi. I posted this question a few days ago and haven't gotten any replies. The
mom is 3 months pregnant and hyperthyroid. In the past she has been
hypothyroid, but that resolved. Lawrence says treatment during pregnancy can
result in fetal goiter and possibly hypthyroidism. The mother would like to
avoid this. Are there any alternative or natural treatments. What is the
danger of not treating? The doctor is worried she may have Grave's disease,
but she is not convinced. She is very knowledgeable and wants to have all the
possible information before making her decision. She has had her babies at
home before and does not want to be treated like a high-risk patient. What
are her options?
