I may be misunderstanding your point, but the entire premise that newborns
are deficient at all in vit K has long been challenged in the midwifery
community. Michel Odent has done studies which indicate that lowered levels
of vit K are normal *and* desirable and that artificially elevating them
*routinely* poses health risks.
