One thing that I have noticed, working in a very multicultural practice, is 
that immigrant pretty consistently change to "US" style breastfeeding within 
a few years of coming here, especially the younger moms :-(  This isn't a 
scientific study, but my gut feelings usually turn out to be pretty accurate 
if I take the time to count.  Another thing that I have noticed  is that 
Vietnamese moms are already pretty indoctrinated to formula feed, probably 
because of the long years US was in Vietnam.  World wide "not enough milk" 
is a common belief.  Where does that come from?  Pat in SNJ
