Valerie, the concerns as regards collecting drip milk are contamination from
skin bacteria and lower fat content. I know I cited references - not
recent - in one of my three 2012 articles on milk banking. As regards lower
fat content, the article I cited is:
1) Davies DP. Human milk baking. Archives of Diseae in Childhood 1982. 57:
3-5.
It's not recent, but I've seen nothing to dispute this.

My article (a literature review) is:
2) Thorley V. Human milk banking to 1985. Breastfeeding Review 2012; 20(1).
You may be able to find it in the University of Queensland's eSpace
repository on the UQ Library site. You will find my other recent
publications are listed at http://www.uq.edu.au/hprc/dr-virginia-thorley

Meantime someone else on Lactnet may be able to supply more recent
references.

I am going "no mail" at the end of today because I have some deadlines
coming up.
