Here are some references on the use of cabbage for edema / breast
engorgement:

engorgement? A randomized, controlled study. Birth 20: 2 June 1993, 61-64.
* Roberts KL, Retier M, Schuster D. A comparison of chilled and room
temperature cabbage leaves in treating breast engorgement. JHL 11: 191-194,

reducing breast engorgement. JHL 11:17-20, 1995.

On another note, I've posted some new stuff on my web site www.bflrc.com. We
had technical problems for a long time and couldn't upload changes without
crashing the site completely.
