I started using the RLC after the IBCLC credentials this year.  From what I
understand about the NEW LETTERS is that it is a way of showing {doctors,
nurses etc} that not only have you met strict guidelines and passed an
internationally accepted exam, thus making you certified, but you are also
registered with teh IBLCE as being a professional.  So you are not only
board certified, but also registered.

I have heard tale that  this is the first step in making it easier for an
IBCLC to accept insurance and actually get paid :)  here is hoping!
